Reorganizing the Business Structure of the Hitachi Systems Group to Strengthen Development and Sales Capabilities and Accelerate Growth Globally

TOKYO, Japan --- January 24, 2024 --- Hitachi Systems, Ltd. (“Hitachi Systems”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), today announced that SecureBrain Corporation (“SecureBrain”), its group company in Japan, will merge with Hitachi Systems effective April 1, 2024, with the objective of further expanding its managed security services business in the global market.
With the increasing diversification of threats on the Internet, SecureBrain was established in 2004 as a company specializing in cybersecurity to deliver IT security to enterprises that provide Web services. After becoming a Hitachi Systems group company in 2014, SecureBrain has expanded its business to include managed security services that protect enterprises from the threat of cyberattacks.
To help achieve the 2024 Medium-Term Management Plan, the Hitachi Systems Group is expanding its business by promoting Go To Market (“GTM”) activities, while positioning digitalization services, managed services, modernization, global fields and green transformation as growth strategies.
With this merger, we will create new innovations by utilizing the advanced technologies at which SecureBrain excels, such as mobile application security services utilizing SecureBrain's knowledge in web security and the development and deployment of anti-ransomware solutions using antimalware technology. We also aim to expand managed security services business through GTM activities in combination with Hitachi Systems' sales capabilities.
In addition, by collaborating with Hitachi Group companies and Hitachi Systems' overseas group companies, we will expand SecureBrain’s human resources and security products and services globally, leading to further growth of the Hitachi Systems Group.
After the merger in April 2024, we will continue to provide and develop SecureBrain's security products and services under the SecureBrain brand, with a focus on the "PhishWall" anti-phishing solution and “GRED,” a SaaS-type website scanner and vulnerability assessment service.
By combining the Hitachi Systems Group's domestic and international business experience with the technology and knowledge of SecureBrain's outstanding technical team and its global footprint, we will improve the value of our managed security services. We will protect our clients' assets from a variety of security threats such as cyberattacks, which have become increasingly diverse in recent years, and support our clients' business continuity.
