Seminar on Information Security Measures That Are Top Priority Need for Support

Tokyo, November 28, 2017 --- Hitachi Systems, Ltd. ("Hitachi Systems"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) and Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic Pvt. Ltd. ("Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic"), an Indian subsidiary of Hitachi Systems, today announced that they will be adding some 90 new employees from FY2017 to strengthen their business structure in southern India to a total of approximately 430 employees in order to provide a wide range of services to the southern region of India where a great number of Japanese corporations have been establishing companies in cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad. In conjunction with this initiative, we held a seminar focused on security measures at a Chennai hotel on November 21 that was attended by 56 persons from some 40 companies of both local and Japanese corporations.

As companies from Japan and many other countries have been expanding into India at a rapid pace, and the growth of business of Indian companies has resulted in an increase in IT investment, the demand for IT services has also been growing exponentially. Amidst this growth, Japanese corporations, in sectors ranging from automobile parts to food manufacturing, are also very actively establishing companies in the southern region of India, with its abundant labor pool and proximity to ports.
Given this development, Hitachi Systems and Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic are reinforcing their services provision structure in southern region of India in order to meet the demand for IT services increasing on a daily basis in the region, and we held this seminar related to information security measures, a high-priority need for Japanese companies.
Both companies plan to continue to strengthen their one-stop services provision structure, which includes everything from IT device procurement to systems design/configuration, monitoring/operation, and maintenance, while also providing a wide range of advanced services finely tuned to the requirements of companies digitalizing their operations as a part of our efforts to help expand the business of Japanese companies moving into India.
