Tokyo, Japan and Rome, Italy -- May 21, 2015 - Hitachi Systems, Ltd. (“Hitachi Systems”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), and Hitachi Systems CBT S.p.A., an Italian system integrator, announced today that Cosmic Blue Team S.p.A. (“CBT”) has officially joined Hitachi Systems Group and changed the company name to Hitachi Systems CBT S.p.A. (“Hitachi Systems CBT”).

As a core company of the Information & Telecommunication Systems Business in the Hitachi Group, Hitachi Systems provides a variety of IT services covering the entire system life cycle from system consulting, design and construction, operation and management to maintenance. Its particular strengths are in management services, cloud services, security services and data center solutions. Hitachi Systems has about 300 sites all over Japan, and 14 overseas subsidiaries, mainly in Asia. By adding Hitachi Systems CBT, which has over 35 years of skill and experience in Italy, to its group, Hitachi Systems aims to deploy its IT services business in the IT market in Europe.

The business strategy of Hitachi Systems CBT will continue to be focused on the design, implementation, management and maintenance of cloud systems, applications, services and solutions. By utilizing the Hitachi Systems Group’s products, services, technologies and know-how, the Italian system integrator will strengthen its IT services activities, especially managed services, security services and Data Center solutions. These IT services will be provided by two data centers in Milan and Rome and will target medium and large companies, either public or private, that need to integrate their own infrastructures with high technological information services and solutions.

This is the strategic role in the business transformation process that the Italian system integrator offers to the market, and it is currently undergoing a phase of rapid evolution as IT develops at the center of business dynamics.

Hitachi Systems CBT’s business lines have been all confirmed. They include: WebRainbow, an enterprise information management platform, EasyCloud, for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and DaaS cloud computing, and EasyWare, a fleet management and technology outsourcing solution. The new security business unit, which aims to promote the security risk management process as a business transformation enabler, is also one of Hitachi Systems CBT’s business lines and it provides consultancy services, design, implementation and management of IT security solutions to transfer operational complexity to focus on data governance.

By fusing Hitachi Systems’ services and technologies with this service line-up, Hitachi Systems CBT will provide state-of-the-art IT services not only to the Italian market but also to all the potential clients of the IT solutions business in Europe.

EasyCloud® Public, private or hybrid cloud projects are enabled with a gradual approach to disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
