TOKYO, Japan and Singapore – April 15, 2014 - Hitachi Systems, Ltd. (“Hitachi Systems”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501) today announced that they have concluded an investment into iAPPS Pte Ltd., a Location Based Service company based in Singapore, to bolster the smart IT business.
Location Based Service industry, providing the precise service best fit for timing and the location based on data collected from smartphones and sensors for each unique consumers is growing. The needs for location data including the M2M technology in the social infrastructure system including device maintenance, meter reading, logistics and traffic is also expanding.
Hitachi Group is stepping up the smart information approach to upgrade social information by utilizing IT and innovation. Hitachi Systems, a core company of Hitachi’s Information & Telecommunication Systems Business, has been providing ICT services in both public and private segments and multiple verticals. Hitachi Systems also operates secure data centers and cloud service platform.
iAPPS has been providing location based service in Singapore for public sector, real estate and retail vertical. Hitachi Systems, Ltd. made a contribution which makes it a 6.9 % shareholder in January 2014. Hitachi Systems, Ltd. aims to collaborate with iAPPS in the location based service and social innovation business.
