Since 2021, Hitachi Systems has been offering original AI classes for high school students as part of its efforts to develop human resources, one of its social contribution activities. In October and November of this year, high school students from two schools visited Hitachi Systems to take AI classes. These activities have also been reported on Japanese newspaper and online media.
Under the title of "Practicing AI in the Real World," we have covered everything from basic information on AI to how to use one of the AI technologies, machine learning, in business.
Lectures were followed by hands-on workshops. In the final Q & A session, high school students asked questions considering their future, such as, "What will it take to train our imagination? "
High school students who took the class commented, " By the time I get a job, I think there will be more jobs related to AI. I thought it would be better for my future if I knew what the class was about." "It made me realize once again that various kinds of AI are becoming familiar.". The lead teacher also said, "The number of students who have recently become interested in computers and AI has increased, and I hope that outside stories as well as teachers can inspire children."
